Lunch on the terrace facing the castle. Pleasant spot under the parasols. After a while, we hailed a very surly waitress to take our order, which finally arrived after a 50-minute wait! My daughter ordered lasagna (which was very good, by the way) with a salad and walnuts. We only saw half and a half of the walnuts... I had salmon with béarnaise sauce and sautéed potatoes (a decent dish, but not a drop of béarnaise sauce). As for dessert: a crepe with Nutella—chocolate, yes, but definitely not Nutella. The second dessert, a crème brûlée, was acceptable. I must particularly emphasize the poor quality of the service (interaction with customers and the excessively slow wait).

Passing through Maintenon, after visiting the castle, we had lunch in a large, sunny room. We had a very good lunch, with tasty meats and delicious ice cream. The service was quick and the waitress attentive. We will return on the next occasion in this charming town.

It's a very professional and pleasant family-run establishment. The owner and staff are truly attentive to their customers. In my personal opinion, this restaurant has the best red meat; I highly recommend it.

21/03/2026: We booked a table for 10 for a family meal, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it! A warm welcome and excellent service. The tagines and couscous are truly generous portions. Go without hesitation.

22/05/2026: A very pleasant and welcoming place. The owner and her friend are as much a part of who you'll meet as the delicious food served. Reservations are recommended. Meals are only served at lunchtime, but the café is open until late afternoon. It has the atmosphere of a small roadside inn, for those who remember them. I highly recommend it and give the owner 5 stars.
