Passing through this weekend, we chose this little restaurant for dinner with some excellent Périgord specialists. The meal was very good, and the service was quick.
Luckily we ate inside given the storm we had last night!! lol

As the name announces, this small restaurant with a lot of outdoor seating specializes in all things duck. The Périgord sampler is a duck-liver lover's delight: freshly seared foie gras, terrine of foie gras, and smoked pieces of duck breast, served together with a mountain of tender gizzards.
A revelation: the wonderful sweet wine of the region, Montbazillac, makes for a perfect accompaniment to the rich plate. The local craft beers are also excellent.
The service is amazing: one waiter taking good care of dozens of tables, hustling and serving everybody with aplomb. Bravo.

Not bad, but expensive for what it is. The Echourgnac salad: 10 Batavia lettuce leaves, 3 slices of smoked duck breast, and 6 pieces of Echourgnac. Good, but overpriced, as it doesn't really constitute a meal.
The same goes for dessert: a very good walnut tart, but the portion was far too small.

A fantastic regional culinary experience with homemade and expertly prepared dishes. From appetizer to dessert, it was a true delight (foie gras, cassoulet, and walnut tart = pure gems). The quality-price ratio was more than reasonable.
Looking forward to returning on my next trip to Périgueux.
