Le Restaurant Les Sapins sur Manigod

We came to lunch at the restaurant twice this week. Everything is perfect: the view, the service, the taste, the quality of the food. It's one of the best fondues we've ever had. The staff is extremely welcoming and pleasant, even when some tourists think they can get away with anything as long as they pay. I really enjoyed seeing the grandparents still working at the establishment; you can feel a very strong family spirit at Les Sapins, and it's very warm and welcoming. We came for a family breakfast, and the buffet was plentiful with high-quality products that we thoroughly enjoyed! The staff were very attentive, and the terrace at the foot of the slopes is exceptional.

Always a warm welcome and the food is always excellent. A must-visit at the Col de la Croix Fry.

Perfect 5-night stay, 10/5 ratings in many aspects: the warm welcome and friendliness of everyone, the owners as well as all the staff; the decor, warmth and cozy feel of the rooms (well-equipped); the new decor and equipment, and spotless bedding; beautiful views from the rooms and dining room (a little less so for the rooms overlooking the road/chalets, so remember to ask); the restaurant with many well-prepared and convivial specialties (a little disappointed with the tartiflette, but excellent otherwise), good wines, and once again, excellent service; the pool and sauna are pleasant at the end of the day (although the sauna is sometimes a little cold, due to children or people coming and going, so you have to go a little early or be patient; when it's hot, it's fantastic); overall convenience (shuttle stop right in front, ski locker, right on the slopes, equipment rental just opposite with a super friendly welcome); Not easily accessible by train, but doable with two pleasant and well-run shuttles between Annecy and the hotel; Col de la Croix Fry is ideal for families or for various activities such as snowshoeing or cross-country skiing; a few interesting shops within walking distance (local produce shop, restaurant at the bottom of the slopes, mountain restaurant for afternoon tea); excellent ESF guides and instructors, superb snowshoeing excursions organized by EDF, and good skating/biathlon lessons… One small drawback, good to know (and this is just my opinion): breakfast is very good, but it lacks some "low-sugar" items such as whole-wheat bread or oatmeal, and local yogurts; however, the homemade cakes are delicious; no kettle in the room (although I understand the owner's response to a previous comment, I missed having a kettle in the evening or after skiing). A fireplace would have been nice, but that's just my personal opinion, as I naively imagined a chalet with a fireplace 😅 That doesn't detract from the quality of the place, all for a reasonable price for the area. We relaxed, enjoyed the snow, and we'll definitely be back! Thanks to the whole team for the fabulous welcome!

A superb evening spent with 14 people at the restaurant (with a reservation). Excellent atmosphere with a fire-breathing show and Christophe, the pianist/singer/accordionist/entertainer, who provides entertainment every Friday throughout dinner! The servers are fantastic, a special shout-out to Lucas who served and advised us all evening – a true leader! The food and wines are delicious and good value for money! We especially loved the Savoyard fondues and the Reblochon cheese!

We were so happy to rediscover this family atmosphere; this was our third stay this year and we can't wait to come back next year.

Ideal hotel for skiing: the slopes are just 50 meters below, perfect location! The staff is very friendly, the whole family is lovely, with a special mention for Christophe who really knows how to create a great atmosphere. The rooms are spacious, modern, bright, and very clean. I highly recommend it!

Great spot after skiing! Ideally located right off the slopes, we came twice after our day on the slopes and it was absolutely perfect. Yesterday, the waiter was very friendly and took our order on the terrace even though it was cold and no one else was outside: really great and much appreciated. Today, we did the same again, but my daughter quickly got too cold. I asked if we could go inside and despite the crowd (almost all the tables were taken), the very kind bartender/waiter asked a couple if they could move to give us a large table. A big thank you also to the customers who agreed to move. In the end: beers, hot chocolates, waffles… and even a second round 😄 Top-notch service, friendly staff, and on top of that, the hot chocolates are excellent and the waffles very generous. We'll definitely be back!
