Leaving Les Halles, a little disappointed by the friendliness of the shopkeepers, we wandered through the side streets and stumbled upon "Le Valmont," a very nice place with pleasant, laid-back staff. The portions were generous and the service was quick. We had a very good meal.

We shared a wonderful family meal at this small restaurant in downtown Dax. The menu offers a variety of traditional French and southwestern dishes.
I opted for the scallops with butter and mashed potatoes—what a treat!
The homemade profiteroles will transport you back to childhood for dessert; I highly recommend them.
Don't forget to book in advance, as the restaurant is full every lunchtime.

A fantastic restaurant. The duck with foie gras is incredible.
Very peaceful and pleasant atmosphere, the service very attentive and friendly.
If I were to return to Dax, I would definitely eat here again without comparing it to any other restaurant.
