le sporting sur Huez

Nice place, warm decor. We ate well, but I think there are fewer dishes than at the Sporting a few years ago, and the atmosphere is less convivial. Not enough Savoyard dishes and frozen desserts. Expensive wine bottles. Not enough choice at reasonable prices. A little disappointed.

Excellent place! I had lunch on the sunny terrace at midday, and in the evening I enjoyed the lovely, cozy, and chic decor and the piano bar. The cocktails were magnificent. The dishes were generous and delicious. The service was attentive and friendly. It's a truly beautiful establishment that's well worth a visit.

The food was very good. The waitress was welcoming and friendly. The pianist made for a very pleasant atmosphere.

The sound is too loud when the singer speaks. It's hard to understand each other at the table.

We booked for the last evening of our ski holiday, it was also a birthday celebration for one of our group. We were delighted that we could be accommodated as a party of 10. We were seated at the very back of the restaurant next to the kitchen, which was lovely as we could see the chefs hard at work. Unfortunately, we were also next to the stairs that led to the toilets. The smell that wafted up the stairs was not pleasant. Also there is only 2 unisex toilet cubicles to serve a very large restaurant so obviously they are well used. There was a singer performing for part of the evening, she was good and it was a nice touch but the volume of the speaker right above our table was loud. It made conversation difficult at times. The service was very good and everyone enjoyed their food. Most had steaks, the kids had burgers. I would return here if back in this resort but I’d request to be seated elsewhere.
