Le Timbaud sur Paris

I was with a friend for drinks; he wanted to have dinner, so I simply ordered a carpaccio as a starter to go with it, and the waiter kindly brought it to me in a main course size for the price of the starter! We often point out when things go wrong, but it's important to acknowledge the good things and good business sense, which has become so rare. I really appreciated the gesture, the speed and friendliness of the service, and the care taken (e.g., a carafe of water was brought without even asking). The food was good for a neighborhood bistro. A pleasant surprise.

Timbaud has become one of our favorite neighborhood spots in Paris. I’m American and spend the summer months in Paris, usually June through September, with my boyfriend, who is Parisian. We live in Belleville, and my first visit to Timbaud was to watch a World Cup football game with a large group of friends. From that first visit, the staff made an impression. When we arrived, they moved tables and chairs around so our whole group could sit together and still see the game. With such a large table, there was a constant back and forth of drinks and food, but they were attentive the entire time. More importantly, they were genuinely friendly—laughing and talking with us and making the evening fun rather than making us feel like a large group they had to manage. Since then, my boyfriend and I have become regulars. They always do their best to find us a table outside, remember our names and what we drink, and welcome us when we arrive. It’s the kind of hospitality that makes a neighborhood place feel like your neighborhood place. The food is also consistently good. I love the salmon tartare because it’s light and fresh rather than drenched in a heavy creamy sauce. My boyfriend’s favorite is the omelette—it’s always light and moist with plenty of ham. We especially love sitting outside, having a drink or something to eat, and participating in the French sport of people-watching. And what stands out is that the warmth isn’t reserved for regulars. We see the staff treating other customers the same way—friendly, attentive and welcoming. Although we almost always sit outside, the interior is clean and inviting, with a nice open feel that still lets you enjoy the view of the street. Timbaud has become part of our Paris routine.

A really cute little bistro on the corner by a lovely park with incredibly friendly service. We went there on a Sunday morning for a light breakfast with baguettes, delicious croissants, and pastries. Good coffee... Highly recommended!

I really reccomend this place for an authentic Parisian Café/breakfast experience. They had 2 breakfast options. A Parisian and an American Breakfast. Nothing crazy but everything we wanted. Also the waiters 10/10. Super friendly. The place itself is lovely too. We will definitely go there again.
