The food was high quality, the porcini mushroom fondue, the charcuterie platter, and the desserts were all satisfying. I had also ordered two bottles of wine (Montagny 1er cru 2022 and Gevrey-Chambertin 2020) and, on my own initiative, asked for potatoes in addition to the bread. The bill revealed a €6 surcharge. I expressed my surprise, especially since I was enjoying wines of a higher quality and leaving a €10 tip. The owner, who was serving, simply cited "cash register procedure." I find this attitude petty and unprofessional. It's a shame, because this kind of detail spoils what could have been a very good experience.

We had an excellent experience at Le Vieux Chalet restaurant in Val Thorens. The welcome was particularly warm and attentive; the person who greeted us was incredibly kind, despite a slight delay which in no way affected the quality of service. The service was impeccable from beginning to end, seamless and professional, even in a busy environment as the restaurant was fully booked. The dishes were of very high quality, perfectly executed, and entirely worth the price. The consistency between the service and the quality of the food deserves to be highlighted. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant for its professionalism, its cuisine, and its welcoming atmosphere.

An excellent Savoyard fondue for 5 people. The duck breast and beef fillet, though rather expensive, were a hit with the other two guests. The desserts were probably not homemade, but they were delicious and beautifully presented. The service was excellent, and we had a lovely evening. I highly recommend it.

The place is charmingly typical and beautifully decorated.
The food is good, but the portions aren't very generous, which is a shame.
They offer Savoyard specialties as well as fish and meat dishes. The prawns are excellent; it's a pity the plate wasn't more full.

I've been there twice, and it was excellent both times. Unlike other resort restaurants, customer satisfaction is a priority, and the desire to do things well is evident. The calf's head with gribiche sauce is a must-try for those who enjoy it—it's delicious. Thank you, and have a great season!
