A truly wonderful evening at Le Vieux Chalet in Val Thorens, spent with six people enjoying an excellent dinner. The welcome was warm and the atmosphere convivial, with a typically mountain feel. Everyone found something to their liking, from the Savoyard fondue for two to the venison stew, beef fillet, and pork cheeks—all perfectly cooked and generously portioned.
We paired our meal with a very good 2017 Volnay, then finished with some very generous coffees (so delicious they were meant to be shared!) and a 9th-century Chartreuse liqueur to end on a truly authentic note.
A charming restaurant, ideal for an evening with friends or family in Val Thorens. A place to recommend without hesitation!

As we do every year during our stay, we booked dinner at this same restaurant. It's been at least 20 years and it's still just as delicious.

A wonderful discovery in the heart of Val Thorens: we had a magnificent evening there, craving a delicious raclette... and it was excellent!
Special mention to pastry chef Gabriel, who finished our dinner with a surprising and incredibly delicious dessert – truly excellent work, thank you!

We had the raclette. The portions were generous, but not exceptional, and the price was average. The only negative was the strong cheese smell that was quite nauseating throughout the place.

Excellent place 🩷
The food is delicious, the fondue was excellent! The staff is fantastic; if you go on Tuesday or Sunday, you'll have the chance to be served by a super friendly hostess who will make your meal even more enjoyable.
