A renowned culinary guide wrote last week, "The chicken mafé is top-notch," ranking it as their number one choice for mafé in Paris. And they were absolutely right! It's a real treat!
Without them, I would never have discovered this little traditional restaurant that serves "classic African dishes and Caribbean combos." Aziz, the chef, is a fantastic and incredibly friendly cook. The place is very simple and welcoming, transporting you to a different atmosphere than typical Parisian restaurants. No wonder it's been around for over 30 years. Great atmosphere.
For those worried about spicy food: the dishes aren't too hot. You can add more spice as you like.
Very reasonable prices.
A wonderful discovery that I highly recommend.

I read an article praising this establishment, so I went to see for myself.
The result? Absolutely fantastic! The chicken mafé was delicious and served in generous portions.
The owner is very friendly, and we had a great chat. I'll definitely be back!

A very friendly and welcoming atmosphere, dishes made with love that you can taste in every bite. And a special mention for the thieb, which is simply incredible. One of my favorite places in Paris ❤️ and the prices are very, very reasonable.

A wonderful discovery at Le Village, a Senegalese restaurant in Oberkampf. I had the chicken mafé with a bouye drink, and it was excellent.
The mafé was rich, well-spiced, with a smooth and flavorful sauce, and the chicken was tender and perfectly cooked. You can clearly taste the authentic, homemade cuisine.
The bouye drink was refreshing, well-balanced, and not too sweet—perfect to accompany the dish. A warm welcome, a friendly atmosphere, and generous portions.
I highly recommend this place to discover or rediscover authentic Senegalese cuisine.

I've known this restaurant for almost 20 years, and the taste, atmosphere, and friendliness of the staff are still the same, despite the change of ownership a few years ago. Hats off to them! I'll be there on Friday, December 26, 2025 😉
