Fantastic experience this Tuesday, March 24th at lunchtime! Everything was excellent, from the service to the food: a warm welcome, delicious and perfectly executed dishes. Special mention for the bacon fries… they alone are worth the trip!

Northern hospitality rarely disappoints. Invited by friends, we were delighted to discover this place in the Plévène plain. Quietly situated outside, alongside an old cobbled road typical of the Paris-Roubaix era, the Bistrot du Witloof welcomes you with a warm smile and a professionalism that lives up to its reputation. The waiter offered excellent advice on regional beers, and even though his area of ​​expertise is oenology, I think their wine cellar is worth a visit, judging by the empty bottles on display. The pork loin was exceptionally high quality, the bacon-wrapped fries were amazing, and the pollack fillet with asparagus risotto was perfect. For dessert, opt for the rum baba served on the side, along with a separate bottle of Diplomatico to flavor your baba to your liking. It's nothing like those soggy babas soaked in rum-flavored molasses; the baba cake can be eaten on its own. Use the tablespoon for the rum, 😉. Warning: those with small appetites should abstain. If you're in the area, you shouldn't come here; we're generous, even with our portions. Long live the North!
