L'Ecritoire sur Paris

Since we stayed at the neighboring hotel, we always had our breakfast and a nightcap here and felt so comfortable that we didn't feel the need to go to any of the nearby cafes. The staff were very friendly, the food was good, and the atmosphere was unique. We'd love to come back.

I went to Paris in April 2026 for a school trip. On the second day, we needed to get lunch, and my friend and I found this lovely little restaurant on the Place de la Sorbonne. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted very warmly and shown to a table. The interior was beautifully decorated with mirrors and a large bookshelf, so I immediately felt comfortable. It didn't look anything like the gloomy photos online, as it had clearly been renovated. The prices were very reasonable, especially considering its location in the heart of Paris. We shared a very large portion of pesto pasta, which also came with some baguette and mini pretzels, and we each had a "small" Coke, which was actually bigger than what we consider an XXL Coke back home. The total bill came to €30.90. The service was friendly and attentive from beginning to end. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Very friendly service, excellent location, fast service, beautifully presented and tasty dishes. Delicious desserts at reasonable prices. Much cheaper than a similar restaurant in Madrid. We will return.
