We came as a couple and had a very good meal. The staff were very friendly and smiling. Just one small drawback: there was no butcher's check, and the biggest negative point was the manager—no smile, unpleasant, she hit you with her jacket and said your business cards were stolen, but didn't apologize. Honestly, it was otherwise perfect, but we'll have to consider changing the manager.

The menu is very varied, there's something for everyone. The portions are good and generous. Just a heads-up that the sauce offered by the waiter with the steak costs €1.50, which is outrageous, especially considering the small amount. The quality of the mini desserts on the "gourmet" plate needs improvement; they weren't great, far too sweet. Nothing like the Valrhona chocolate fondant. The service was a bit slow.

It had been a long time since I'd been there, and I wonder why? Everything was excellent: the welcome, the meal, the waiters—really everything. If you're ever in Saint-Quentin, don't hesitate to go. I'll definitely be back very soon, and with pleasure.

A loyal customer since it opened, that's 18 years! This was my first Google review in January 2025. However, since then, this evening, I acknowledge that I ate very well and received a warm welcome until, after paying the bill, I noticed an error: I had paid more than I had calculated when ordering. I admit I asked for extra crème fraîche in the potato and cheese dish and I admit I said it wasn't a problem to pay extra. But you should know that sauce supplements are listed on the menu at €1.50, so paying a €1.50 supplement, as I have done every time for years, is not a problem for me. However, after paying the supplement labeled "1 miscellaneous restaurant...€5". At first, I thought it was just a typo when I asked, surprised, that I hadn't expected to pay an extra €5 but €1.50, like all sauce supplements have been charged for a very long time by all the staff, including the manager. I should point out that neither the manager nor the CEO was present that evening, only the person in charge of that particular event, a very tall man in a black shirt. When I asked the waiter (not the manager) why it was €5, he told me that the head chef sets the prices for supplements. I don't see why I should have to pay significantly more than usual. The waiter, who was very calm and kind, told me that it was the head chef's responsibility to tell me, not his. When I said that, they could have at least warned me that the supplement would be €5 (for the same thing as usual at €1.50). Since I had asked for crème fraîche to be added to the top of the dish, I was charged the equivalent of two supplements (the receipt said 1). Let's assume I don't dispute that, but at home, €1.50 x 2 = €3, not €5 (at €5 a supplement, I wouldn't have ordered it if I had known). When I overheard my conversation with the waiter, where I told him it's the waiter's responsibility to inform the customer, not the chef's, regardless of who it is, the manager raised his voice and told the waiter—and I swear I'm not lying—"Give her back the supplements, give her €50 so next time she can eat the universe and get out!" I refused, saying I didn't want a refund for the difference in the supplements or anything else, but that the system applied that evening was unacceptable. And the big boss has the black shirt, which is true, I admit: the other day (it was about 3 weeks ago, a Monday evening when there weren't many customers), you left to go eat at L'Univers because I refused to put anything but rap on TV, and you repeated it to my boss even though I was the boss, I do what I want, if I want to play rap all evening and the customers don't like it, that's fine, I'm the one who decides (I should point out that tonight, there was indeed this problem, I had my father with me, with whom we intended to eat a little later in the evening, at 86 years old, you can understand that we don't play rap all evening (we had already politely endured this rap for 45 minutes before asking to change the channel, and the big boss, the same one as tonight, said your father shouldn't just not watch TV if rap bothers him) (so Since there's TV everywhere, you just have to go to L'Univers. Given the "friendliness" of this manager, we left next door without waiting for our drinks to be served. When I complained that evening that I hadn't been informed the supplement would be €5 and not €1.50 as usual, this manager yelled at me in front of everyone, saying that because of me, he almost lost his job. This was because I had asked his boss about three weeks prior, during the "rap clash," if this same manager's attitude was normal, telling me to go eat at L'Univers if rap was a problem for me. This same manager made a scene in front of all the customers present at the karaoke night that evening.
