05/10/2026: L’Ami Louis is an interesting experience that feels like stepping into old Paris. The atmosphere is distinctive and full of character, and the food is good, although in my view it does not quite justify the very high prices.
The standout dishes were the veal steak and the roasted chicken, both very well executed. Portions are also exceptionally generous, so this is definitely something to keep in mind when ordering.
Worth visiting for the atmosphere and the experience, but the value for money is difficult to justify on the food alone.
13/09/2026: Simply sublime! I went in with a healthy dose of skepticism after reading the reviews, and I was immediately struck by the first thing that stands out about this place: the atmosphere. Not just the decor, which seems to transport you to another era, but this almost magical ambiance that puts people at ease, makes them talk, laugh, relax, and let themselves go in this long, lacquered wood corridor, as if you were stepping back in time to an era when spirits were freer and more vibrant. Then we ordered, and I can say that the prices are absolutely justified. A decidedly French menu: not a bistro trying to be modern, just deeply and authentically traditional dishes. And each dish is cooked with a respect and care for the recipe that leaves one speechless. I had never eaten veal that tasted so much like veal, nor duck that tasted so much like duck. And it is here that I will continue to come to find the reason why France is said to have one of the best cuisines in the world.
