Interesting menu, very friendly welcome, original cellar setting...but this is a cellar, it's very noisy... And the original menu doesn't taste good...it lacked a lot of flavor...the tuna like the beef had no taste...the saltiness is in the bill.

Expected more given the stellar reviews and the price point, but the flavours were mostly plain and the portion sizes for the entrée and dessert were a bit too big. If eating as 2, I'd recommend sharing an entrée and dessert. Zucchini fritter - yummy starter, well seasoned House bread - Quite sad, not soft, not textured, little flavour. Felt like grocery store bread Foie gras crème brûlée (entrée) - honestly big enough for two. Flavour was nice, though it got a bit boring after a while. Also served with too few toasts for its size. Dos de cabillaud (plat) - cod was nice and delicate but overall the dish had too simple of a flavour. Also not very visually appealing as everything is just buried in sauce Sphère chocolat lactée, ananas, noix de coco et citron (dessert) - house special dessert that day. Probably my favourite course, lots of interesting complementary flavours. But again, so much food, could've been split between two people (the ball is filled entirely with the citron cream)

Don’t pass by this small, off-the-main-street, restaurant. Its going to be the best food you’ll have in Aix or the whole Provence! Absolutely recommend: ❤️ crème brûlée foie gras ❤️ la tomate de l’Envie ❤️ tarte tatin de souris d’agneau Merci mille fois 😘

Di passaggio a Aix non era stata la nostra prima scelta, ma il ristoratore che non aveva più posto, sollecitato di un consiglio, ci ha suggerito questo piccolo grazioso locale. Nel centro storico ma non nella zona movida, qui di silenzioso e raccolto (siamo stati nel dehors) ci ha servito piatti gustosi, molto curati e reinterpretati (come la tarte Tatin). Ricco, appetitoso e leggero (dormiremo bene questa notte)

Ce petit restaurant dans une cave (attention à l'accessibilité par un escalier en colimaçon) n'est pas dans un quartier très animé. Le serveur très sympa est très à l'écoute mais on sent que la cuisine à du mal à fournir vite (quelques minutes entre chaque plat) La carte courte mais originale sort des plats bien présentés mais manquant d'un peu d'assaisonnement ou au contraire de rééquilibrage des saveurs. Le dessert pomme en trompe l'œil montre un bon savoir faire.

10/12/2024: On a weekend in Aix, we decide to look for a pizzeria in the old town for lunch. At Jo's it's crowded but the owner suggests that we come back in a moment, which we do and our table is waiting for us. The room is small and it is not easy to sit and move around as the tables are so crowded. Before talking about the cuisine I would like to compliment the owners and the waiters: friendliness, smile, responsiveness, availability... Concerning the cuisine I will be less tender but I must point out that we live less than 45 minutes from the Ligurian coast and are used to eating Italian among Italians....at Jo's, no pizza with a blown edge like at Naples or very large pizzas with crunchy dough like in Rome. Pizza the diameter of the plate, any dough neither soft nor crispy, no mozzarella but a cheese with an aggressive taste like Comté or industrial made especially for pizza makers. As for the price, staggering! In Ventimiglia, the equivalent of what I ate (cheese pizza commonly called Marguerite or Neapolitan) is charged 7.50 or 8.00 euros. I paid 17.00 euros!!!! Given the good reception at Jo, this establishment deserves to stand out from the competition on site. Exit the bad industrial cheese and a short day of training for the pizza maker to make and cook a delicious, soft and at the same time crispy dough like our transalpine friends...

It was neither the food nor the waiter that was very pleasant, but the betrayal of the boss, a complete liar who did not respect the rules of Thefork's game. Let me quickly explain, I had a reduction of €25.00, he refused to apply it. Knowing I was within my rights, he simply gave me 20% and didn't want me to pay with the app. Why did he have this attitude? You should suspect why. Since I hate stories, I gave it up.
