Les Genets sur La Bastide-Puylaurent

Don't judge a book by its cover: Sylvie might seem a bit rough around the edges, and the staircase leading to the rooms could easily put you off. In fact, while not luxurious, the rooms are perfectly adequate and spotlessly clean, and Sylvie is absolutely lovely, taking excellent care of her guests. Her cooking is delicious and very (perhaps too?) generous. The hotel is very well located. So, you can book a stay at the Hôtel des Genêts without hesitation.

Sylvie, the vivacious owner, delights us with her homemade dishes, which exude generosity, deliciousness, and good cheer. The jams, especially the raspberry jam, give us the energy to set off again on the Stevenson Trail. An excellent place to eat, and a big thank you for the fun and enjoyable moments spent with Sylvie and her lovely mother.

A lovely stop on the Stevenson Trail. The hotel is ideally located, and retains its original charm... The rooms are clean and comfortable (the toilets are on the landing). The home-style cooking is excellent and generous; Sylvie and her mother are fantastic—in the kitchen, with the service, and the atmosphere... we had a delightful evening... The breakfast is hearty with homemade products: brioche, cake, jams... Thank you for this stopover. I highly recommend it.

We received a very warm welcome from Sylvie and her mother. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The meal was very generous, as was the breakfast before we set off again. Nearby, there's a small shop for supplies and a tea room for a drink upon arrival. The Allier River is also there for a refreshing dip. A truly wonderful time! ✨

We received a very warm welcome from the hotel manager. We had a good night's sleep, the hotel was clean, and we thoroughly enjoyed the generous portions at the restaurant. However, the hotel is a bit dated and could use some updating. Having only one toilet per floor is from another era. But we will keep fond memories of our stay.

Absolutely fantastic! I couldn't end up staying there because it was fully booked, but the manager went out of her way to find me accommodation elsewhere in the town. If she did it with such enthusiasm and efficiency for someone who isn't a regular guest, you can imagine the dedication she shows to her customers… So I'll definitely be back, booking earlier next time.

Exceptional welcome! Sylvie and her mother are very kind and energetic. Lots of humor in a very friendly atmosphere. The meal is delicious and generous, not to mention the breakfast with homemade products. An address to definitely remember.
