Les Griffons sur Bourdeilles

Quiet hotel, spacious room, good welcome, impeccable service, small downside would have preferred a shower instead of a bathtub

We stayed there the night of August 24-25, 2024 in room 7. When booking we knew that this room was a triple room but at the price of a double. THANKS. Spacious, clean room with good bedding. The hotel is quiet, well located by the river and a stone's throw from the castles (2) of Bourdeilles (a must-visit). Small, pleasant swimming pool too. Possibility of parking also. The welcome is friendly and professional. Very good catering (around 140 euros for 2 with aperitif, main course, dessert and glass of wine). The price of breakfast is perhaps a little high (16 euros). I recommend this hotel for its calm (far from the hustle and bustle of Brantôme), its location and its catering.

Lovely rooms, great food and amazing personnel! We enjoyed every second here and can only recommend a stay (and dinner!!) at this amazing location.

Don’t hesitate to book Hostellerie Les Griffons. It is every bit as good as the multiple previous reviewers report. The room we had was big, beautiful, quiet, comfortable, well serviced and with a view of the bridge over the adjacent river Dronne. The hotel location is very romantic in apperance. It is a great location for driving to the many nearby attractions. The interior is finished pleasantly. There are nice public areas and the WiFi works perfectly. Local residents reported that it was one of the best restaurants in the wider area, and was good value. What makes this place a “must book” is the restaurant and the exceptional care provided by the owners and staff. Very rarely does a place elevate itself to “magical” by some mysterious way. Could be the stunning location, or the ducks swimming past during dinner, or the top-quality chef, or the genuine caring staff, or the feeling you don’t want to leave. Hostellerie Les Griffons has found the right recipe to make this a wonder place to stay.

Gites we stayed with family. The place is magnificent, calming, surrounded by the Château de Bourdeilles and the Drône where we can fish. The cottage we booked is an annex to the Hôtel les Griffons where we were able to enjoy the hotel's swimming pool and spa. The staff as well as the hotel manager are friendly and very helpful and met our slightest expectations. I highly recommend this accommodation and we will definitely return.

Very well located for visiting the charming village. Price a little high for the services.

Step into the authentic French culture! We went to dine at the restaurant and everything was absolutely top-notch; from the service, the coziness of the place with a table by the fire, to the quality of the food. The chefs are innovators, surprising you with a 8 course high quality tasting menu and no indications on what it contains before hand.. a remarkable experience! To top all that, the ambiance of the place is unique thanks to the professionalism and friendliness of the owners and the staff. Look around and enjoy the surroundings as you have truly stepped in the beautiful French countryside.I can only recommend it!
