Les Gueules Noires sur Vouvray

An incredible restaurant with cuisine bursting with creativity and freshness! Impeccable service on a shaded terrace. We went there after visiting the Vouvray wine cellars, and it was the perfect combination. Thank you, we'll be back!

Great little restaurant. Fun dishes.

A superb experience! Located in a cave dwelling, where the temperature remains a constant 22°C (a welcome respite during a heatwave), it was a wonderful culinary experience (see the photos for proof). Organic, local produce; homemade sourdough bread. I chose the sea bass sashimi with verbena oil: raw fish, but remarkably delicate on the palate. All the dishes were tastefully presented. Impeccable service: the owner gave excellent wine recommendations and presented the food with care! I highly recommend this establishment.

Beautiful troglodyte setting with a terrace shaded by a magnificent lime tree and set amongst the vineyards of the Vouvray, this is quite special. It squares the circle of a family-run village restaurant with an ambitious, but not over-exuberant cuisine and a wine list worthy of starred restaurants. Friendly and competent service, too. Highly recommended!
