Les Marmottes sur Arrens-Marsous

We've had the pleasure of stopping at Les Marmottes several times, both in summer and winter, and it's always a real treat ⛰️ In winter, under the snow, the atmosphere is magical: few people, a peaceful setting, perfect for taking a break and warming up with a nice hot drink ☕️ In summer, it's a completely different atmosphere, much more lively! The restaurant is extremely popular (and you quickly understand why), so it's best to plan ahead and book if possible. Even so, the wait is pleasant: there are shaded outdoor tables and a small bar where you can enjoy a drink while taking in the surroundings 🌿 The location is ideal, with a large, easily accessible parking lot and, above all, an absolutely stunning 360° view of the Pyrenees, with animals roaming freely all around… an incredible setting 🐄 Inside, you'll find yourself in a true mountain restaurant: all wood, warm, and welcoming. The staff are very dedicated, energetic, and genuinely friendly, even when it's busy. As for the food, it's flawless: local, homemade dishes that are generous and delicious. The portions are substantial, colorful, and well-balanced… we tried several dishes, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed them from start to finish 🍽️ Whether for a quick bite or a truly indulgent experience, it's a place we always return to with pleasure. A wonderful stop, as pleasing to the eye as it is to the palate ✨

We've been bereft since it closed. Claude had done a great job succeeding Serge, with whom we also got along very well. It's sad to visit Le Soulor without having eaten there, and without experiencing the wonderful atmosphere that used to be there.

We came for sandwiches, but since they're closing permanently in three days, the manager offered us a delicious garbure (a hearty vegetable and meat stew) to grab on the go. My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed it. We followed it up with a fantastic cheese platter. Thank you for the warm welcome and efficient service. This superb restaurant will be sorely missed at the summit of this legendary mountain pass. All the best for the future!

The blueberry pie is exceptional! The team is lovely.
