We stumbled on this place because the restaurant we had intended was « complet ». The food was d’alsacien and really tasty and filling. The front house is run by x2 gentlemen who look like they’ve been doing it for years and continues the tradition which seems nice in the current era. You’ll need some French or German to communicate better in this resto. For the food, we’d comeback.
A rather good kitchen overall despite disastrous service due to an exchange of orders I ended up with a tarte flambée Forestier with pieces of Munster not even melted but made up for it when leaving where they apologized for the inconvenience .
This place is an oasis in Petite France, especially considering the ridiculously overpriced restaurants and bars around.
The man that I believe is the owner is super kind and attentive. This seems like a family establishment, and it showed with the food, and how cozy the place is.
The meatballs (Fleischkiechle) were delightful. The sliced sauteed potatos were one of the best I've ever had. And the tarte tatin was unreal.
I recommend this place without a single doubt.
Ambos deliciosos.
Excellent Alsatian Winstub as we like them
I had a delicious pork shank on a bed of sauerkraut and grated potatoes and a delicious siskin tart with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Excellent value for money
I highly recommend
