Pleasant setting with a beautiful view. Quick, efficient, and friendly service. Child-friendly menu and seating. The only slight drawback was the limited selection that day. We will definitely return.

Very warm welcome and good food

A lovely little restaurant in the beautiful village of Polignac, near Le Puy-en-Velay. The menu is very affordable, with starters, main courses, and desserts. Ideal for a quick stopover. Highly recommended.

We had chosen this place because of the good reviews. We were very disappointed in the food. Of the few salads on the menu, there was no more burrata and no more Saint Nectaire cheese. For the start of the service, we thought it was a bit average. I chose a charcuterie board. Another big disappointment was the quality of half the plate. While the pâté and cheese were good, I could eat the industrial charcuterie (coppa rosette and chorizo) at home. There was no drinks menu, so I had to ask for the prices of drinks, which can be a bit uncomfortable if you end up finding it too expensive to order. Drink prices are nevertheless posted at the entrance. The burger would have benefited from a little local cheese in my opinion instead of the slice of cheddar. We are in Auvergne, right? The burger was good, however, as were the fries. When it came time for the children's ice cream, there was no more vanilla, no more chocolate. They finally found what they were looking for, but there was a big downside regarding the availability of products. I hope for their sake that it's a one-time delivery issue, but we weren't given an explanation. They don't accept lunch menus. A shame, in my opinion. The good thing is that the children didn't leave a crumb of their fish. They really enjoyed themselves. Nothing to complain about regarding the welcome and service except the lack of explanation for the shortages.

Very good little village restaurant. The food is good and the atmosphere is friendly. Remember to make a reservation as it gets very busy. I recommend it.

We booked a table for lunch, received with little warmth and no smile. A quick and almost expeditious order taking, we asked for details because the menu is very succinct, obviously it was too long. A long wait between taking the order and the service. Salads okay even if I found a hair in mine and it crunched under the teeth. Simple burger, okay but the cooking of the meat not mastered, steak requested rare served medium to the center and overcooked on the edges. An overall mixed experience.

A truly pleasant place. This evening, we dined on a shaded terrace, with a light breeze caressing us—a true delight. The service was impeccable, the waiter attentive and thoughtful. And what about the view? Magnificent, with the Château de Polignac as a backdrop. The atmosphere was intimate, calm, and relaxed—exactly how we like it in these places steeped in history. We ate very, very well, and left delighted, with smiles on our faces. A pleasant experience from start to finish, in a setting well worth the detour.
