We discovered this restaurant by chance. Excellent family cooking, very pleasant welcome and atmosphere. The only downside is the price.

Discovery somewhat by chance of this small restaurant hidden at the end of an alley (not to be confused with the restaurant without a sign located in front of the Escale du Roy sign). A real gem! Welcomed first by the regulars and the smell that emanated from the kitchen then by the manager, Dominique (multi-tasking) helpful and incredibly kind with multiple talents, both in the kitchen, at reception and in the service. Top-notch dishes, fresh, impeccable seasoning, cooking like at grandma's. No regrets, we will come back on our next visit to the region.

Dominique the owner is open all year round, she is the champion of eel with parsley. If you want to find an authentic and friendly place with simple local people who are easy to get along with. L'escale du roy is a real social place where the inhabitants of Brouage can meet up out of season.
