L'esprit libre sur Horbourg-Wihr

This was our first stop as we hit Alsace. I've heard the region was famous for its food, so when I had the chance to eat all this, I was very pleasantly surprised. In fact, I was almost a bit spoilt because almost everything else in the Alsace region couldn't beat the quality and balance of the menu here. I travel with adults who tend to be quite fussy with their preferences in terms of diet. Can't be too strong in bold flavours, can't be too sour, can't be too gamey, can't be too fatty. This restaurant however, received no complaints whatsoever. That's a huge compliment in itself. It's a bit more of a modern take on french dining than the typical winstubs of the Alsace region, but I'm happy to dine here again and try everything off of their menu. It's a pity our appetites weren't super big, if not we'd definitely have ordered more food. I personally think this deserves to be on the Michelin guide. Thanks for the meal :)

Great place, warm welcome, and a lovely little terrace. The dishes are very good and well-portioned. I recommend it. However, the prices of drinks, especially juices, are outrageous: €6.50 for tomato juice and €6 for grapefruit juice! And no drinks menu was provided so you could know the prices beforehand!

Our family discovered this discreet restaurant in Horbourg-Wihr. It was a lovely, peaceful dinner on the terrace. The welcome was warm, and the service was impeccable and quick. The dishes were homemade and made with fresh, seasonal ingredients. They were as much a feast for the eyes as they were for the palate. We ordered a main course and dessert and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves from beginning to end. A great place for food lovers; we will gladly return.

Delicious, regional, fresh produce, and great wines. The menu is small, but the quality is excellent. Most importantly, the owners are competent, friendly, and passionate about what they do. The decor is simple, but that suits the location. Our top favorite in the area.

For our third visit, once again, we were completely satisfied with the "homemade" experience, a delight from beginning to end. We chose the famous vol-au-vents, entirely homemade, followed by a fresh salad, and to finish, a vanilla panna cotta with candied cherries and tarragon, and a scoop of blood orange sorbet – a real treat!

We spontaneously got a table and were even allowed to bring our dog. The owner explained everything on the menu to us, we made our choices, and were speechless. The ambiance was tasteful, perfectly balanced in every way – simply superb!… and plentiful too! The drinks are highly recommended! Value for money is excellent; the service and atmosphere were just as good. We will definitely be back! Thank you!

A real gem... We're from Mulhouse and we had dinner with our friends from Strasbourg... a wonderful, convivial moment in a lovely setting. Everything was perfect: the welcome, the wines, the dishes, the desserts. We chose four different main courses and four different desserts: everything was delicious, generous, and authentically flavorful. Pure bliss...

Today's discovery to celebrate my mother-in-law's birthday. Everything was excellent, from the foie gras appetizer with its slice of toasted kugelhopf, to the vol-au-vents and the rhubarb tartlet with strawberry ice cream 🤤😋

A lovely restaurant near Colmar, with few covers, great care taken in the preparation and presentation, and good quality ingredients showcased beautifully. A sure bet.

Thank you for this wonderful experience. A very warm welcome, the restaurant has a lovely atmosphere. The pork cheeks were an excellent dish. A beautifully presented plate, and the portion was generous. Be aware that from the road, it looks like the restaurant is closed!
