We were warmly welcomed for a good lunch. The staff attentively provided a suitable shaded spot for our family. The fries served were very tasty and not too salty. Service took a little longer than our toddler could handle in terms of energy, but that was made up for by the good food.
Because we have a number of (mild) allergies, it was important that we could communicate well with the staff. One of the employees spoke good English; we only had to mention the allergens once, and he knew exactly what we could and could not eat. If you have severe allergies to certain traces, I don't know if the kitchen can handle that; you need to discuss that carefully with them yourself.

A very generous and well-filled Époisses burger, perfect for those with a hearty appetite, made with excellent local ingredients – my mouth is watering just thinking about it!
I highly recommend it, especially after a few days of hiking in the Morvan region.

The restaurant is beautifully situated in Avallon's old town, near the clock tower, and has an outdoor seating area where you can sit comfortably in good weather.
Making a reservation by email eventually worked, but only after several attempts and persistent inquiries. More reliable communication would be desirable.
The ambiance is more basic than cozy. The food was generally okay, but it didn't really impress us. Given the prices, we expected higher quality and a bit more finesse.
In addition, we were overcharged for an appetizer on the bill, which could have been corrected, but it left an unpleasant aftertaste.
Overall, it's not a bad restaurant, but we felt it wasn't good value for money.

We stumbled upon L'Horloge by chance. What a pleasant surprise! We went back in the evening for a drink and again the next day for lunch. The staff, both at lunchtime and in the evening, are very friendly: welcoming and funny. The food is very reasonably priced and really good.

Excellent meal. They serve good quality ingredients. The butcher's cut is a delicious hanger steak with a shallot sauce. The fries are homemade. And the snails are good, although a more pronounced garlic butter flavor wouldn't have gone amiss. The wait was a little long, but I'm impatient by nature (it's still within the norm for a restaurant).
