L'Ile sur Issy-Les-Moulineaux

A very pleasant restaurant on Île Saint-Germain in Issy-les-Moulineaux. The setting is truly lovely. I've only been there in winter so far, so I haven't yet had the chance to enjoy their terrace, but it definitely makes me want to come back when the weather is warmer. The dishes are well-prepared and delicious. Each time we've visited, we've had a wonderful time with friends. The prices are reasonable for a night out to celebrate a special occasion with family or friends. The staff is always welcoming and the service is quick, which is much appreciated. A nice touch: they offer Bachir ice cream. It's obviously more expensive than in the official shop, but it's still a real treat to find it on the menu. We'll gladly return. For your convenience, there's an Indigo parking garage less than a 5-minute walk away, or valet parking directly in front of the restaurant.

Excellent welcome and impeccable service

People come more for the ambiance than the food. The restaurant's location and layout, with its three distinct areas including a large terrace, are charming and make you forget its size. The service is attentive and quick, no complaints there. Things fall apart when it comes to the food. We opted for the set menu, which included sea bream with Orso risotto and a creamy sauce. The fish and risotto were cooked perfectly. However, it was a bit bland, and a vegetable was missing to balance the dish and add some variety. For dessert, we had a "lemon tiramisu" on one side and an apple crumble on the other. The tiramisu was a reinterpretation, marked by the near absence of mascarpone, replaced by a kind of sabayon mousse that was far too sweet for my taste. The lemon flavor was also barely present, with the sponge cake swimming more in sugar than lemon. I should have been more wary, as the two people at the table next to us hadn't finished their tiramisu. The crumble was served in a small portion (like a crème brûlée dish) and it too turned out to be dry and bland. The apples lacked flavor, and the crumble clearly hadn't seen much butter. It's a shame because, once again, the place has a lot of charm and the menu price is reasonable. A little more effort and you could make your customers want to come back.
