L'Impressionnist' Cafe sur Auvers-Sur-Oise

Very warm welcome. Excellent local cuisine. We really enjoyed ourselves. A big thank you for this delicious experience.

Excellent lunch, we opted for a sort of vegetarian stew with chickpeas and carrots spiced with soy, like pieces of fake meat. We were satisfied; the dessert was also good, and the price was good in a setting that deserves it.

Exhausted by the heat, we stumbled upon this café within the castle grounds late one Sunday afternoon. It was about to close, but we were greeted with the utmost hospitality by Christine 🤩. "No problem, while we're closing, I'll be here in about thirty minutes. Sit down, choose what you want, and take your time!" Incredible!!! We were completely stunned. This allowed us to regain our strength with refreshing drinks, sheltered from the sweltering heat. We also had time to admire the nymphaeum—a pleasant surprise, given that there are only a dozen of them left in France. But the best part was the welcome, the smile, and the kindness of Christine, blessed be she. (By the way, we were able to explain to our foreign friend: "You see, France isn't just about grumpy Parisians, it's also about that! Friendliness! The pleasure of welcoming tourists, even for a Perrier!") Long live the Nymphée café and, above all, long live Christine! Of course, we'll be back when we continue our visit to Auvers 🌻
