L'Impressionnist' Cafe sur Auvers-Sur-Oise

Very warm welcome. Excellent local cuisine. We really enjoyed ourselves. A big thank you for this delicious experience.

Excellent lunch, we opted for a sort of vegetarian stew with chickpeas and carrots spiced with soy, like pieces of fake meat. We were satisfied; the dessert was also good, and the price was good in a setting that deserves it.

Exhausted by the heat, we stumbled upon this café within the castle grounds on a Sunday late afternoon. It was about to close, but we were greeted with the utmost hospitality by Christine 🤩. "No problem, it'll only take me about thirty minutes to close up. Make yourselves comfortable, choose whatever you like, and take your time!" Incredible! We were absolutely stunned. So, we were able to recharge our batteries with refreshing drinks, sheltered from the sweltering heat. We also had time to admire the nymphaeum—a pleasant surprise, as there are only about a dozen left in France. But the best part was Christine's warm welcome, her smile, and her kindness. (By the way, we were able to explain to our foreign friend: "You see, France isn't just grumpy Parisians, it's also this! Friendliness! The pleasure of welcoming tourists, even just for a Perrier!") Long live Café Le Nymphée and especially long live Christine! Of course we'll be back when we continue our visit to Auvers 🌻
