L'O a la Bouche sur Saint-Nazaire-D'Aude

All 4 of us got duck and beef which was WAY too overcooked. We struggled with communication as no one spoke English. But it was somehow resolved. A lot more expensive than the other restaurant in the village. We didn't go here again.

Since 2023 and until recently, I consistently gave this restaurant 5 stars and enthusiastically recommended it. Unfortunately, the owner and chef changed in the spring – something that wasn't mentioned on the website. The canal-side ambiance is still great, and the service is still friendly, albeit rather informal. However, the menu is less creative and the food isn't as good as it used to be. And yet, it's still just as expensive, if not more so. Just one particularly egregious example: Where previously, for €31, you could get 250g of the finest Charolais beef fillet under the "Un effet boeuf" menu, now you get a piece of marbled entrecôte as the "Pièce de Boeuf" for €32. The two of us spent €120 and were deeply disappointed.

In a stunning setting, the cuisine is excellent. The welcome was simply perfect. The chocolate mousse with olive oil was a revelation, a delight. I highly recommend it. Pleasant service.

A pleasant moment on the occasion of Father's Day

A fantastic meal for six! 👍👍👍 A gourmet experience at a very reasonable price! The staff were all incredibly professional, from the owner and waitresses, especially Laëtitia, who was charming, pleasant, and clearly loves her job, to the head chef Safia (a former contestant on "Objectif Top Chef"). The cuisine was modern and exceptionally refined. Safia, who recently took over the restaurant, has completely replaced the tableware; we've never seen plates like these! 👍 In conclusion, a very enjoyable family meal, and if we had to give it a rating, we'd give it 19/20.

The restaurant itself is a beautiful and ideally located place; if you're on the terrace, you can watch the boats go by on the canal. We thank the chef who delighted us with an original and exquisite menu. We chose the second menu, which consisted of an amuse-bouche of cucumber, feta, and smoked paprika oil; a starter of delicious tomato carpaccio with a scoop of tomato and bell pepper sorbet; and for a crunchy touch, a parmesan crumble. The main course was duck breast with apricots and its own jus. For dessert, a pink baba, the chef's signature dessert (which we couldn't finish despite its lightness). One of our companions ordered the beef (excellent and tender), served with new potatoes and chilled baby gem lettuce, as well as a chocolate mousse with olive oil and fleur de sel. We also thank Laetitia for her smile, her warm welcome, her kindness, and her attentiveness... But we didn't walk 35 steps to get to the bookstore, but 76 (we didn't see a single geese) 😂 Looking forward to going back someday!

Duck breast as a main course only: overcooked and very fatty, served with one and a half apricots. No vegetables. A very small and meager portion for €27.

Excellent restaurant. Fresh, high-quality ingredients. Refined cuisine. Pleasant and professional service in a very pleasant setting. Highly recommended.

The menu for Wednesday, June 3rd was truly a delight, a remarkable touch, I highly recommend it!

We ate at this restaurant during our visit to the Canal du Midi. The welcome was warm and the dishes delicious, made with quality ingredients and beautifully presented. We recommend this establishment.
