Hotel as we like to have in the provinces. Almost family-friendly and with a certain personality which is not the case with hotels belonging to large groups. The price completely corresponds to the service.

I took two French speaking friends to this restaurant as a treat last Tuesday July 2nd. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, but the service was poor. The person at reception was unfriendly and surly, and the table service was inadequate for a high end restaurant. The waiter gave us the impression he was not interested in us at all. We were given incorrect information about the desserts and the plates were not cleared before we had our coffee. The most pleasant person was the young woman being trained as a waitress. It was very disappointing.
In returning to Templar Rennes Chateau region 21 years later I found much changed and after four train journey from Paris didn’t have my wits to book all the stays I needed . Upon finding Pigeon I met Fabian a true French artist of the hospitality culture who got me amazing room . And then I got to have one of best dinners I’ve ever had even after a week in Paris . Fabian and his staff make it all look so easy and as former waiter I couldn’t believe how they served packed rooms without a sweat and never a late dish . The lamb melted off the plate and was many of amazing dishes on dinner menu . If I return to area I’m definitely staying here again in a town that’s fun romantic and pure France
