L'Orangerie sur Combourg

Visited on a Thursday night with my wife and 14/11 year old girls. The place looks smart from outside and it was very quiet. We decided to try it as there had been some good reviews. The owner was also the chef, the waiter and bar tender as only member of staff on this evening. However, that was fine as only 2 tables filled and it turned out that he was absolute gem. He speaks very limited English (and embarrassingly our French is awful) but he was so friendly and made such an effort to ensure we knew what we were ordering. He took such a pride in his cooking and he was lovely with the kids. The whole experience was very positive and we all really enjoyed the food. We would certainly recommend it as my wife loved it as well.

With 5 stars from us, everything is said! Excellent cuisine, with products prepared with taste and a touch of fantasy. A smiling and very attentive waitress. Beautiful decor and a very welcoming and very talented chef. We had a great time and highly recommend it!

Une certaine déception pour le prix. Peu de choix dans la formule du jour. Des plats modestes, pour un prix élevé, mais bons. Pas de carte des boissons seuls des prix de vins sur une ardoise qui dépassent l'entendement. Pas une bonne expérience...

Coming to Combourg today, I do not regret stopping at this address where I was very well received and where I ate very well :) The little white wine Orangerie is excellent and the burger... a gem 😁 If I come back to the area, I'll come back :)
