Staff all helpful and patient. Short wait even midweek in October. Only one GF Main and desert option but wife really enjoyed both. My cheese platter (4 cheeses) was varied with warm fresh bread, but even for a café gourmand my three taster sweets were small and bland, though coffee v good.

The meal was very good and commensurate with the price. However, several things were puzzling: we were the first customers of the day to order the daily dessert from the chalkboard menu, and when it came time to serve us, we were told they were out (surprising for the dessert of the day...). But when we mentioned we wouldn't be having dessert, lo and behold, they had the daily dessert! Then, when the château staff arrived, all the tables were rearranged, the chairs placed haphazardly, creating a very canteen-like atmosphere. This was rather surprising in a restaurant with a magnificent dining room and classical music playing in the background.
