Passing through Villeneuve-sur-Lot, we chose L’Oustal because of its menu and its prime location under the arcades. We received a very warm welcome from the owner. We thoroughly enjoyed the traditional Basque cuisine. Everything is homemade, using local products. The service was professional. We had the opportunity to chat with the owner, which was very pleasant. In short, a perfectly run establishment with impeccable value for money for such high-quality food served in the heart of the bastide town.
Excellent set menu for €25: open-faced sandwich with cream cheese or grilled sardines - Toulouse sausage and mashed potatoes or haddock fillet with black rice - profiterole-style canelé or roasted fig or cheese. A bit of a wait, but very busy. "Homemade" menu.

Excellent restaurant! I had the duck confit, it was delicious. The staff who served us were lovely and adapted the children's menu for our picky daughter. I also recommend the Basque cake, a family recipe.

The owner is in the kitchen and the owner is serving, generously sharing information about the origin of his products and the history of his region.
