We came for a friend's birthday, and our host spontaneously prepared a birthday candle, prompting the entire room to sing "Happy Birthday" together. A warm and friendly atmosphere with quality dishes to suit all tastes.

It was an evening in November. Sabine said to me, "What if we went to McDonald's before seeing the movie?" Being the woke I am, I was surprised by her suggestion. I told her that I had no intention of funding that fast-food chain with its dubious backers. Since I pass through Mouans-Sartoux regularly, I remembered a crêperie there. I rarely eat out in Macron's France, and, being a vegetarian, I have to admit that the options are sometimes rather limited. That said, even though I'm a vegetarian and a bit grumpy, saying no to a crêpe seems inconceivable to me.
Without hesitation, I suggested to Sabine that we have dinner at "the crêperie in Mouans-Sartoux, next to the cinema." She agreed, and so did my friend. She even mentioned, "Hey, I've eaten there before, and the portions are quite generous!" I made a reservation for lunch.
"Hello, I'm planning to have dinner at your restaurant this evening. Do you think a reservation is necessary?"
"Not really, but just in case, it's best to make one. What name will it be under and for what time?"
"7 p.m., under the name Charly."
"Very well, Sylvie."
So it seems I'm expected that evening under the name Sylvie at this restaurant. About an hour before we leave, I check the directions and the opening hours.
Foolish as I am, I realize I haven't made a reservation at all where I thought I'd eat. Luckily, it was in Mouans-Sartoux, and not far from the cinema. So, I might as well go.
The restaurant was rather deserted; not surprising for winter. It was quiet, and there's nothing better than silence to hear only the delicious sound of a crêpe being made.
The meal was delicious, the portions generous. Even though I arrived under the name Charly and Sylvie, my reservation was scribbled on the back of a notebook. No big deal, it's all part of the local color.
The only possible downside: the price of the desserts. €7 for a crepe with chocolate spread seems a bit steep.
The waitress was cheerful and the food was served quickly. In short, I had a pleasant time in a restaurant I wasn't supposed to be in.
Looking forward to making the same mistake again ☝️🤓
