A lovely place that was recommended to us before we hit the road again, and we were really expecting high-quality products based on the window displays, but we were ultimately disappointed with the sandwiches we ordered (ham and butter and chicken curry). The first was dry, with just a single, unspreadable pat of butter in the middle and a rather soggy, dry ham. The second was the same, dry with no sauce. It's a shame. I'm simply posting this to raise awareness and suggest improvements, and I won't comment on anything else. Perhaps we just had a one-off run of bad luck. The saleswoman was very friendly, and it's a nice place otherwise. Have a good day.

Often crowded. Several cash registers. Not very clear where to go. But there's a party atmosphere. The drinks are good. (Don't even think about going there with a good book - too noisy).

Very good hot chocolate. Wide selection of pastries and savory snacks.
However, you have to serve yourself. But it's a nice place.

The bakery and pastry shop are excellent, with a very wide selection of high-quality items (and the prices to match...).
Maison Bettant is a sure bet... But what a lack of organization every time we visit! We consistently wait over twenty minutes for a coffee and a pastry (and the staff, who seem as limp as a pancake, don't seem at all surprised)!!!
It's high time this kind of feedback was taken seriously!

Good products and bad ones depending on the day. For example, I bought two canelés, taking the precaution of asking if they were fresh. They weren't, but were at least three days old! Dry and inedible!
Unacceptable for this Villeurbanne institution, a real shame.

Friendly welcome, excellent service, delicious pastries, great place! In addition to the pastries, I also ordered pain au chocolat. Given the queue, the pastry shop assistant went to get them for me – fantastic!

Magnificent place, both modern and steeped in history.
A warm welcome from the staff, who were professional, helpful, and friendly... On a Sunday morning... Thank you so much for your great advice and for making us feel so comfortable!!
We were served a beautiful, perfect, complete, and delicious breakfast... simply delicious!!
I recommend it without hesitation!!!
