Although I've had meals there in the past, years ago before Google, this review will be about my last experience there. Disclaimer: I didn't eat there, but instead got a table outside overlooking the cathedral and ordered some gewurztraminer. The wine wasn't particularly good (my fault for choosing poorly - they have a wide selection), but the experience was wonderful. The house is a historical landmark that is just absolutely gorgeous, inside and out. And the location is just the best ever, being next to the most magnificent cathedral in the world (I don't care what other people say, it is the most elegant one). The servers were kind and attentive and the weather cooperated brilliantly - no pun intended. We stayed there a couple hours, taking in the surroundings and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Super touristy. Expensive and not very good. However, sitting in the square with the Cathedral is nice. Server didn’t get drink order correct-felt like he was rushing us and not paying attention.

Fairly average service. Many order errors, whether during service or during billing. It's a shame, especially for foreign tourists who risk being fooled more easily... The dishes are good, without being extraordinary (I'm a local). I regret that there is not more choice of local beers (where is Meteor?) instead of serving Belgian beer that you can find in supermarkets... However, the setting is exceptional and nothing but it is worth the detour.

Très belle surprise : établissement historique ! Cadre super sympa avec des découvertes culinaires comme la choucroute aux 3 poissons. Équipe très professionnelle et accueillante, je n’ai pas été déçue de mon passage, bien au contraire. Très bon rapport qualité/prix

Le lieu a vu passer énormément de célébrités (comme le prouve les nombreuses photos présentes). C'est l'endroit adapté pour déguster une délicieuse choucroute dans un décors traditionnel. Beaucoup de monde, mais le service est rodé pour servir les très nombreux touristes présents.

Le Kuhn

12/09/2024: Restaurant Le Kuhn was on my "want to go" list, and I also chose it out of convenience since it was close to my hotel. I had come from touring the Black Forest and, upon arriving in Alsace, I immediately noticed the difference in the cuisine... and in the French effusiveness! I really liked chatting about everyday topics with the waiter, everything was very pleasant. For lunch, we ordered a Flammenkueche classique, the classic Alsatian "pizza", a filet de boeuf Rossini (suggestion of the day, which came with pepper sauce when I expected it to be grilled), and a veal (veal) schnitzel with sauce of mushrooms. Both dishes came with fries as I understood, although I missed that accompaniment in my steak, I felt somewhat forgotten in that detail! For dessert, we opted for an iced kougelhopf, which looked incredible (I got carried away by the name and its appearance), but in the end its flavor did not live up to the visual expectation. We accompany everything with a green tea and a coffee. In short, the food was good, with some surprises, especially with the filet de boeuf, but it was a pleasant experience, even more so with the friendly attention of the waiter. A nice ending to a day of exploration!
08/09/2024: The food was very well cooked, and special requests such as a hearty starter as dessert were no problem :-) The menu is available in several languages. The service was attentive and courteous.
