Maison Olhabidea sur Sare

I just spent a little time looking at the reviews on olhabidea, one of my favorite tables...I laughed a lot!! especially the opinions on the "service". then we start again and put things back in place: if you like to eat well with very large dishes in large dishes themselves in small dishes...if you love bows and bows....if you need to order anywhere like at home...go your way....olhabidea is THE family home of Jean and Guillaume who are our hosts. each table, each plate, each magnificent bouquet has a soul....here reigns charm, warmth, a delicate simplicity, and extraordinary cuisine...so many things that we no longer find so easily....if all this speaks to you: go for it you won't regret it!!!! Concerning me very much this evening for a dinner with friends which can only be a moment of happiness in this place!!!

The setting is pleasant, our dish of suckling pig was good but it is a shame that the service was unpleasant: I had chosen a chocolate parfait with raspberries, when the plate arrived, raspberries did not come and when I asked where they were, I was told in a very curt tone that there should be no more. Instead, under the whipped cream, three small strips of pears... We will not return to this restaurant, the pleasure has been spoiled.

Delicious lunch in this beautiful place. The food is excellent, it's a shame that the staff is not more friendly and above all that the service is terribly long. More than an hour between each dish is way too much. Obviously the organization needs to be reviewed.

Magical place and decor worthy of a fairy tale. Refined cuisine and dishes. But what a shame to have such unpleasant service, with the impression of truly disturbing, from the beginning to the end of this meal which could have been simply sublime...

The place is spectacular!! Don't miss it!!

We went to the "Olhabedia" restaurant for our wedding anniversary and had the pleasure of finding this magnificent setting nestled in the Basque countryside: garden, old house and terrace. Flowers everywhere outside and inside. We enjoyed delicious cuisine and very well prepared fresh products.

Olhabidea is the most beautiful place to discover in the Basque Country. Together with the restaurant, the place is also an idyllic 5 bedrooms Guest House dated from the XVI Century. The house enhances you with its special and unique ambiance and decoration to the wonderful basque culture. The maitre is charming and polite. Always smiling and welcoming, he is in charge of the distinctive atmosphere and the comfort of his guests. The chef delights you with his creations made from fresh, seasoned and fine vegetables from his own garden, and the best quality and local ingredients. Every single experience in Olhabidea is sophisticated and delicate. You definitely might try it if you wish to feel at home in an ancient entourage while tasting modern creative cuisine.

Heureusement Jean est revenu, cadre original et chaleureux comme toujours, cuisine raffinée, très bon rapport qualité/prix.

Une ambiance originale et inoubliable. Déjà vous êtes conquis par le décor, ensuite la gentillesse du personnel et lorsque les plats arrive vous savez pourquoi vous vous sentez aussi bien. Ça vaut largement un étoilé. Bravo
