Maison Rabelais sur Langeais

Excellent service, very kind and fast waiters, excellent food quality for a fair price.

We went for lunch at this establishment. After sipping soft drinks on the terrace facing the castle entrance, we settled inside to escape the heatwave. A visit to the mouthwatering pastries was a must... At a massive wooden table, we enjoyed salads topped with rillons (pork belly confit) and extra-large open-faced sandwiches. A dish Rabelais himself would have been pleased to nibble on, especially since the illustrious figure is said to have spent a night upstairs! The service was pleasant and friendly. Of course, the pastries were a delight and brought this indulgent interlude to a close...

Nice setting, but €5 for an éclair to go!!!! That's outrageous!! Luckily it's tasty

Delicious food and a very friendly welcome. Our dog immediately got a bowl of drinking water and the burger for the kids was a big hit!

We enjoyed some delicious ice cream, though it was slightly too sweet. There was a lovely view of Langeais Castle. However, the staff were unfriendly and unwelcoming, and the prices were excessive, with no prices displayed in the pastry shop window.

A relaxing ice cream break was much appreciated after visiting the castle. Friendly service and delicious ice cream. Thank you!

The best pastry shop in the canton and beyond! As a regular, I'm a huge fan of their chocolates, macarons, financiers, and Black Forest cakes... basically everything 😅. The cozy little lounge offers a relaxing tasting experience at the foot of the castle 🏰. A must-visit in Langeais.

A spectacular location at the foot of the castle, and the staff were helpful. The prices are a bit high, but one of the best desserts I had in the Loire Valley was there.
