Makila Restaurant sur Bassussarry

A very pleasant golf course, always perfectly maintained. It's a real pleasure to play here in such a lovely setting. The welcome at the Pro Shop is always so warm and friendly, which is much appreciated. However, a slight drawback concerns the restaurant: the service at the bar is a little less impressive and could be more in line with the quality of the course.

I wanted to give it 3.5 stars, but it's either 3 or 4... The course is interesting and quite fun to play; it's very hilly and the greens are rather challenging. The staff are very welcoming and the facilities (putting green, driving range, etc.) are very good. However, I was disappointed with the maintenance of the tees, which are really not up to standard (to the maintenance team's credit, it's a significant heatwave). There's also a lack of sand in many of the bunkers, which makes shots unpredictable.

The course design is very pleasant and varied. However, the condition of the course is very poor. It's the middle of summer and a hot period, and the course is particularly dry. Only the greens and the areas around them are in good condition. The tee boxes are in very poor condition: they are almost entirely weeds. It's a bit disappointing for a relatively high price.

The practice area is separate from the putting green and chipping areas, which is a shame. The hitting mats are outdated; it's difficult to drive tees in (use the plastic winter tees with cups). The green fee is a bit expensive considering the course is worn out due to lack of water. The junior pass is now only available for under-18s. Equipment rental is available, but they are basic clubs (Cleveland, Cobra), so it's best to bring your own set. The course is worth trying because of some interesting technical sections. It's not the same course as the white tees.

The reception team is very friendly (true UGolf spirit 😀), and trolleys are available to borrow. Golf is demanding; it requires commitment and control to avoid the hazards. Physical fitness is also needed if you have to push the trolley, as this charming course is hilly. The greens are well-maintained (kudos to the groundskeeping team). See you soon! 🏌️🏌️

The welcome and the location are perfect.

An 18-hole course that is always immaculate; fairways, greens, bunkers, everything in perfect condition for playing, and it's also in a spectacular area very close to Biarritz. The service at reception is excellent.

A superb golf course, varied, peaceful, and impeccably maintained. The course is very diverse, with greens featuring some slopes. Magnificent views. A lovely terrace and good food. A very professional and friendly welcome.

Superb golf course. A must-play if you're passing through or on holiday. The restaurant decor has been completely redone. The golf course is very physically demanding, especially on foot in hot weather.

A very varied course winding through a mountain range. Beautiful views of the Basque mountains. The course is well-maintained and enjoyable to play, but I especially recommend that seniors use a golf cart, and others an electric trolley. Lunch on the superb terrace is a real bonus, as there's an excellent chef and the service is relaxed yet attentive. I highly recommend it.
