I never understood why people ate pad Thai. That is until I ate at Mao. Service was top notch, but what really set them appart for us is the great choice of vegetarian options as well as the great food. We will HAVE to come back to Tours, just for the food! Remember to book in advance, and they seem to fall victim to their awesomeness and having a seat at a table is highly unlikely if you did not make a reservation.

Very good address, the food is delicious. Very professional waitresses. and pleasant. The decoration is magnificent. Too bad the upstairs room was closed. I hope you manage to repair the canopy leak. We will come back with great pleasure.

Le déjeuner à l’étage sous la verrière et au milieu des plantes est un vrai bonheur. Le menu « plateau » du midi est vraiment très bon, très copieux et pas cher pour la qualité des mets et de la cuisine. Service souriant et rapide. C’est mon quatrième déjeuner ici et c’est toujours aussi bien.

Malgré un petit couac sur le service, on a très bien mangé, tout était bon, frais et à bonne température. Je recommande chaleureusement ce restaurant.

21/01/2025: Doesn't look like gigantic buffets with low-end products. I didn't know this address but I highly recommend it. Friendly server and friendly atmosphere.
20/01/2025: It's disturbing to arrive in front of an empty room with no one to welcome us but once we understand that we have to go downstairs it gets better. We are very satisfied with this restaurant, the dishes are very good, I prefer a buffet with less choice but good quality dishes rather than a restaurant with dozens of different dishes reheated in the microwave. I particularly liked the pho soup, the fact that we can compose the garnish ourselves is really nice (be careful of the peppers which are very spicy, fortunately it is indicated). The room is very beautiful and the atmosphere is very calm, it was very pleasant. There were two servers, the person who welcomed us was not very cheerful, we had the impression of disturbing her, but the other server was friendly and served us well.
