MIDO sur Marseille

14/08/2026: We called at the fast food counter of this restaurant for an unnecessary but tasty lunchtime pit-stop. Cheap & cheerful with a hard working, friendly staff team on the day we were there. The meat Tunisian chapati was a stand out, beating any global chain burger in taste and price.

07/08/2026: A wonderful discovery for our first day in Marseille! My son and I went to Koujina Express Chez Yassine, near the Saint-Louis tram stop (T3). Chez Yassine has several locations: some offer dine-in, but we arrived during prayer time and couldn't use the indoor dining areas. So we ate at Koujina Express Chez Yassine, which is more of a fast-food style place, with a few seats and a pleasant terrace with a shaded area. We ordered a chicken chapati: a bread filled with marinated chicken, egg, cheese, and peppers, served with fries. The chapati was really delicious, generously filled, and very filling. One chapati was more than enough for my son and me, and he really enjoyed it too. The homemade fries were a real bonus: they were very good, although I thought the portion was a little small. The €9 set menu with chapati, fries, and a drink is very reasonable considering the quality and generous portion. The service was quick and friendly. The establishment advertises itself as offering Tunisian cuisine. I can't comment on the authenticity or representativeness of the dishes compared to what's available in Tunisia, as I've never had the opportunity to eat this type of food there, but the chapati we tried was truly excellent. A great find upon our arrival in Marseille. We'll gladly return to try the other offerings.
