An overall pleasant experience in a setting well worth a visit.
The first thing that strikes you upon arrival is undoubtedly the location. The terrace and garden are magnificent, the ambiance is elegant, and the attention to detail (tableware, linens, table settings) fully contributes to the enjoyment of the meal. The servers are friendly, smiling, and professional; the waitress is warm, available, and attentive throughout the service. The non-alcoholic cocktails were excellent. We would even have been willing to pay a few euros more if it meant they came with a small amuse-bouche. The main disappointment was the unavailability of the Black Angus ribeye, the dish we had come specifically for. We would have appreciated being informed upon arrival, especially since we were the first customers. The offered replacement with a flank steak did not meet the expectations of a dish chosen for its specific cut. The appetizers were beautifully presented. The foie gras duo particularly impressed us with the quality of the product: the terrine was delicate, meltingly smooth, and flavorful, with exceptionally high-quality foie gras. The foie gras royale, with its lighter, more mousse-like texture, was certainly a beautiful creation, but it simply didn't quite suit our personal tastes. This texture and mouthfeel didn't appeal to us, whereas the terrine, on the other hand, completely satisfied us. Given the excellence of the latter, we personally would have preferred a second slice of traditional foie gras. The crabmeat was very attractively presented, but the texture disappointed us. We expected to find the delicate texture and fibers of good, fresh crabmeat, but the preparation seemed more processed, with a wetter texture and less like the raw product. An appetizer that was still acceptable, but didn't entirely convince us in light of our expectations. The main courses were well-prepared. The guinea fowl with Timut pepper was good, but not particularly memorable. The salmon steak left us wanting more. Overall, we felt the dish lacked depth and character. The advertised raspberry beurre blanc was unfortunately raspberry in name only: we found neither the color nor the expected fruity and tangy notes. The polenta, too dry and rich for our taste, failed to deliver the desired finesse.
The desserts provided a lovely conclusion. The vanilla, caramel, and pecan mille-feuille was a generous, beautifully presented, and indulgent dessert. The puff pastry and vanilla cream were particularly well done. Only the caramel, with its rather pronounced bitterness, fell short of our preferences. We enjoy caramel, but even more so when it maintains a good balance between richness and sweetness, without excessive bitterness. The lemon meringue macaron was a delightful surprise: generous, indulgent, and perfectly balanced. The lemony flavors were pleasant and the overall experience very successful. We simply would have appreciated a slightly more refined presentation, in keeping with the establishment's standard. A piped Italian meringue, a few lemon zest shavings, or even a thin slice of candied lemon would, in our opinion, have enhanced the presentation and added that touch of elegance that sometimes makes all the difference (the presentation I had envisioned for the lemon meringue macaron; see attached sketch).
Ultimately, the quality of the service, the setting, the staff, and the prices all seemed consistent. Above all, we will remember an elegant establishment, a welcoming team, and a genuine attention to detail. While a few dishes could, in our opinion, have been more visually appealing and better showcased to highlight certain ingredients, we nevertheless had a very pleasant experience and thank the entire team for their hospitality.

The setting is magical: an old mill, a river, a terrace overlooking the garden, a spacious room with a fireplace where the tables are well-spaced. The service is extraordinary. We were greeted by a charming person who personally attended to us. I've been there three or four times.
But the food doesn't live up to the setting and the service! A huge disappointment the last two times. What a shame! With a talented chef and a proper kitchen team, this restaurant would be a huge success!
