After the lavender harvest, the biby is open, but no one seems particularly concerned about visitors. The exhibition is free to view.

A place where we are welcomed without fuss and a boss of rare kindness. A big thank you for this moment. The little family of the Var😉

Good museum, but we saw better ones during our trip in Provence. Good gallery explaining the technological development of the lavander harvesting and distillation. And all for free. There is also a restaurant at the ground floor.

The ice cream is good, the owners are friendly, and the lavender processing machinery is interesting.

Very pretty place, very pleasant server and fast service with advice and explanations about the city. Too bad there is no museum or Instagram account to learn a little more than the history.

Cafè oriental

01/07/2026: In this heatwave, I was looking for a shady terrace, and as a bonus, this one was beautifully flowered 👍. After a morning spent in the lavender fields, I wanted a light, refreshing lunch, and above all, a reasonable price: a Perrier with a slice of lemon €3.30, a Caesar salad box €7, and an ice cream sundae €7, for a total of €17.30 😉. No complaints about the food or the service. If I'd wanted a restaurant, I would have gone to the neighboring terrace; this place ticks all the right boxes for a snack! As you can see, for me, challenge accepted, I had a lovely time in this little square in Valensole.
27/06/2026: It's not the Ritz, it's not the Crillon, it's not the George V, but for a small Provençal country bistro, which doesn't need to cultivate a loyal clientele, which probably owes a large part of its annual revenue to tourism, especially in June and July thanks to the lavender fields, what can I say… You get a hot panini (the Provençal: delicious!!!), a beer, and a scoop of ice cream for €10, in a perfect Marcel Pagnol-esque atmosphere, at "L'été en pente douce" (Summer on a Gentle Slope), at "La Bicyclette bleue" (The Blue Bicycle), in the shade, for €10!!! You're given a super warm welcome by smiling, welcoming, polite, and kind staff… everything you have the right to expect and hope for when you take a little break during your motorcycle ride… no need to sit at the large tables, the Café Oriental will do just fine!!!
