Nguyen Hoang sur Marseille

Nguyen-Hoang, a Vietnamese restaurant in Marseille's Old Port district, is quite popular, with the entrance already packed with customers waiting and dining at lunchtime. The restaurant has limited seating, making the space feel a bit cramped, and the tables and chairs show signs of age. However, the owner is very welcoming and proactively guides customers to their seats, a definite plus. This time, I ordered Vietnamese pho and roasted duck rice. The tableware is simple and homey, without much decoration. The pho broth was rather cloudy, presumably because raw meat slices were cooked directly in the broth, lacking the crispness of pre-processed meat, resulting in a slightly less flavorful dish. The roasted duck rice was rather ordinary, falling slightly short of my expectations. Overall, for the Old Port area, the prices are relatively affordable. It's fine if you just want a quick meal, but if you have more time, I suggest considering other areas where you might find more refined and flavorful Vietnamese cuisine.

Delicious, superb, amazing, unbelievable. Shall I continue ?Going back today for more. Only open for 2 hours. Tells you all you need to know. They must do pretty well. Opens at 12PM. Already packed at 12:01PM. Get there by 11:45AM. Back for more, 8 months later! Still my favorite spot for lunch. So good and so fresh. I love this place!
