Listen, I hadn't seen the reviews before. But the daily specials were nice and hearty. Okay, nothing exceptional, a classic steak, fries, and salad! Typical for a brasserie, but I arrived late at 2 pm and was still welcomed, and the fries were really good. I recommend it!

Normally, I don't like to leave reviews for places I visit, but I feel compelled to write one for this little establishment. First of all, I must say that the interior is beautiful and the atmosphere is warm, comfortable, and inviting. The long wooden counter forms an impressive line, adorned with a coffee machine, cups, and various newspapers. Some of these newspapers are scattered around the room, left by customers on different tables. The wood contrasts sharply with the stone walls, the brass pipes (or what appear to be brass) behind the counter between the kitchen and the dining area, and the rather colorful mosaic floor. It's simply a beautiful place that naturally inspires me to write nice things about it. The lighting is soft and warm. The coffee is inexpensive, 2 euros for a noisette, and it's really very good. The milk is never too hot; it's a pleasant drink. There's no music, but the acoustics are lovely. There are long communal tables and plenty of individual ones. And the staff are friendly and relaxed. I hesitate to say this, because I understand it might sound like an exaggeration, but I'd like the staff to know that this is one of the most pleasant cafes I've ever had the pleasure of visiting. Perhaps it's simply because it fits my particular taste for unpretentious places with a good vibe, good coffee, and a calm, friendly atmosphere—perhaps others would agree. I wouldn't hesitate, however, to recommend it to others.
