Pane e Olio Taverna sur Paris

We ate so well that we went back for dinner. The food was delicious, and the service was very friendly.

Passing through for a quick lunch, I stumbled upon Pane & Olio by chance – the restaurant's style, the terrace, the decor, and the crowd must have all played a part. The menu is extensive, with something for everyone. The prices are reasonable for the quality of the food. My request for a quick meal was accommodated. The service was fast and friendly. I highly recommend it.

A wonderful experience at this restaurant. The Italian dishes were high quality, fresh, and delicious. The service was warm and welcoming; we felt very much appreciated.

Small pizzas are available for takeout (4 choices), but no large ones. However, the very friendly servers recommended another Italian restaurant just a stone's throw away. Excellent! The atmosphere is really good. And there's a large dining area.

Lunch with friends; the dishes pictured are Sicilian carbonara and A' torta ri nucidda (hazelnut tart). The service was great, even though we waited a little while. The dishes arrived hot and were delicious and filling. The dessert was actually more like a cake than a tart, served with incredible hazelnut ice cream. I highly recommend it!

Giuseppe Messina is a bit like the Luis Enrique of Sicilian cuisine in Paris: he leaves nothing to chance, much to the delight of his guests. Very fresh, very authentic, very good, not far from the Parc des Princes. Before the arrival of these uncompromising culinary wizards, we weren't exactly aiming for the top. But that's all changed; Paris is number one. I don't know if Italians, Sicilians, or Italian-New Yorkers will accept this very subjective judgment, but I think Paris could well have become the world capital of Italian cuisine. That's my opinion, and I'm sticking to it! In any case, if I were Inspector Montalbano, I'd make this taverna my Parisian haunt.
