Nice hotel, with excellent dinner. Half board is recommended, because there are no restaurants in the immediate area. You still have some options by car. Beautiful walking environment. Very friendly employees.

Super hotel in an enchanting setting nestled in the heart of the Alsatian Vosges. The location allows for beautiful hikes in the region and nearby pretty villages. A magnificent view in front of the hotel leads us to a full breakfast every morning. Evening meals are comforting and well cooked by the chef. Finally, a big thank you to the staff for their professionalism, their quality service and their good humor which accompanied us throughout our stay. The well-maintained wellness is a real plus.

Beautiful establishment, good food, the rooms are spacious but we would have preferred a shower rather than a bathtub. The welcome by the bosses is just perfect 👍

2nd time we have stayed at this hotel and certainly not the last! Everything was perfect! Hotel where you are not considered a number but where there is that little "extra" that makes all the difference: the smiling hello in the morning, the good evening in the evening, the fact that you ask about your day, which we recommend for visits and/or hikes in the surrounding area... The setting is magnificent and very peaceful. The Spa area, jacuzzi, sauna, hammam and swimming pool, accessible at no extra charge. A beautiful park to walk around... Delicious meal, attentive, respectful and friendly staff. Thank you again for this cocooning stay in your hotel.

Come back every year to spend an evening only in the restaurant, between the friendliness of the staff, the welcome of the site manager, a pretty veranda, and above all excellent dishes very well presented. well done

On several occasions, at several times of the year, we stop there when we return from a day of hiking. When open. The welcome is always friendly. Even when we arrive there soaked from the rain.

Where we normally stay in motorcycle hotels, we now thought: “We are going to spend the night in a chic way” The photos and price were also good. Upon arrival we found a beautiful, stately but old hotel. Maintenance and cleanliness was not in line with our expectations in terms of chic. Showering in a bath is outdated and downright dangerous. Grilles and corners were dusty. Dinner was tasty. The breakfast was very simple, something I didn't expect. The beds are good and the staff is very friendly. Is this accommodation suitable for motorcyclists? Yes, but not with groups. Would I come back? Yes.

Le Freudeneck Restaurant

19/09/2024: What an amazing hotel and restaurant in the heart of Alsace! So glad we took the advice of other travellers and gave it a try. The highlight is the food… a very professionally run restaurant with local dishes cooked with great care and served in a lovely contemporary dining room. The chef is very talented. The wine list showcases some excellent local wines at very reasonable prices. The breakfast buffet is simple but fresh (excellent croissants, bread and local cheese and ham as well as cereals, yogurts and fruit). We were seriously impressed with the food. The portions are very generous! The rooms above the restaurant have been given a contemporary lick of paint and the beds are modern and super comfy but the bathrooms remain firmly rooted in the 1970s (it’s a long time since we’ve seen an avocado suite!). We felt this added a certain charm and everything worked amazingly well which is all that matters after a hard day’s walking. The only thing we missed was a kettle and cups to make a morning drink. We’d definitely recommend staying here if you’re planning a trip to this lovely area.

16/08/2024: Excellent old style restaurant. Decor filled with trophies from hunting. Food traditional. And very good. I do hope the place will keep open for some years. The couple running the place are not young. Good wine list too.
