Pasta e Basta sur Paris

A tiny Italian restaurant on the Place Olympiades, right in the heart of Chinatown. A shaded terrace, calm and pleasant during this sweltering summer thanks to a breeze. No menu, but chalkboards with varied, original dishes that change regularly. High-quality cuisine at reasonable prices. In short, a great place.

Going "to Pasta," as they say, means finding a warm and welcoming place where eating is a great pleasure. The Italian cuisine is fantastic, both high-quality and authentic (the best gnocchi in Paris).

I'm certainly a regular: I used to frequent the restaurant when it was run by the father of our current host. For over 20 years, the restaurant has maintained its qualities: a simple and warm welcome, quick service, a limited menu with dishes that change regularly throughout the months and seasons while remaining original and delicious, flavor combinations I haven't found anywhere else, and quality wines always suggested to complement the chosen dishes and the customer's budget. The pizzas and desserts vary less but are still excellent. It's not the cheapest Italian restaurant in Paris, BUT... I've never regretted going back, and I've never had a guest who didn't leave delighted with their experience and eager to return. €43 per person, including aperitif, main course, dessert, and a glass of wine. My only wish is to have dinner there on the weekend. 😉

Delicious, hearty, and inventive. A gem on the Esplanade des Olympiades. Constantly changing menus. Sensational pizzas. But above all, original dishes from an inventive Italian chef, beautifully presented by Romain and Jean-Michel. A far cry from the over-the-top fare so common in Parisian Italian restaurants. I'm a regular and I've noticed that the quality is consistent, even improving.

The pizzas weren't amazing; for that price, I expected better. Last time, I left the restaurant smelling something burning—do they even have ventilation in the kitchen? It wasn't pleasant.

My favorite pizzeria in the neighborhood! A lovely staff, top-notch service, fresh, local or Italian ingredients. And honestly, affordable considering the quality! I come here almost every week ❣️
