Pâtisserie Fresson sur Metz

The cakes were good. The cream was light and pleasant. The candied orange peels were a little too sweet for our taste. The chocolates were good, but we weren't impressed.

Maison Caffet offers excellent chocolates and very good pastries. I'm never disappointed, and the service is always perfect; they take the time to explain, describe, and even let you taste a good chocolate before you buy. Admittedly, it's not cheap, but quality comes at a price.

I visited Maison Caffet twice, and each time I received an extremely warm welcome from the saleswomen. I hadn't been there since Fresson, so I wasn't familiar with their products or brand. The saleswoman explained everything to me clearly and even let me taste their specialty. A pure delight! I chose several individual pastries, and oh my goodness, they were so good! You can recognize an excellent pastry chef by their way of making pastries with a lot of flavor and very little sugar, which makes this a truly exceptional culinary experience. You can really taste the ingredients and not just the sugar, as with standard pastries. I find the price of the individual pastries reasonable considering their quality. I could mention other exceptional pastry shops in Metz with much higher prices for lesser quality. Their chocolates are excellent, not too sweet and not greasy—a little marvel! I will definitely be back.
