Petite Plage sur Royan

Wonderful little restaurant - lovely owner and very kind waiter - The food is excellent and finally a proper seafood restaurant by the sea!!!! which is becoming a rarity. The prices remain affordable, even if it's still a bit of a splurge these days.

A great little restaurant opposite the carousel! We had a wonderful time at La Petite Plage, a lovely little restaurant tucked away on the corner of the seafront opposite the carousel. The atmosphere is very pleasant, a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of Royan's arcades, and the warm welcome immediately put us at ease. As for the food, the mussels were delicious, fresh, and flavorful – a real treat! The portions are very generous, and the fries are excellent. The value for money is very good, which is always appreciated. One small drawback: the squid rings were much overcooked, but it didn't spoil our meal. In short, a place to recommend for a delicious and convivial break by the sea! We will gladly return. 😊

Extraordinary. I didn't know this restaurant; it was finding a parking spot nearby that brought us here. We opted for the full menu at €23, which in 2026 is very rare in the Royan/Saint-Georges/Meschers area. This menu is very diverse (four choices for each course) and a delightful array of flavors intertwine on generously portioned plates. I recommend the anchovy starter, the Charentaise bouillabaisse, and the brioche French toast. A small, fruity Charentais white wine is also available at a reasonable price (50cl for €7). Everything was served promptly, without waiting, and with great friendliness. Congratulations to the chef and the entire team. We will be back.
