Pizzeria Calabria sur Fourchambault

Passing through on our way back to Paris, we stopped at this place with our two motorcycles. The people were friendly, with a warm smile, and everything was homemade. Evening menu: pizza and gourmet coffee. Really great! Thank you for your hospitality, a friendly, local atmosphere!

Overall, it was okay, with a few things to improve, like keeping the rice and Bolognese sauce separate (thankfully I'm not vegan). We don't have any allergies, but it's good to specify when there are tomatoes in the rice. The pizza was fine, no problem at all. The desserts were good.

It was better in previous years. The service was terrible, with a waitress who was incredibly rude, just raising her hands to wipe the table without a smile or a greeting. There was a man shouting on his phone next to us. It's a shame; we've had much better pizzerias.

Having not been back since my teens, 30 years later, I rediscovered that wonderful taste that reminded me why I loved these pizzas. Like the pizzas, even the handmade desserts are delicious (we had a tiramisu and a rich, chocolatey mousse). What's more, the same team is still there after all these years, and they're just as friendly as ever (without saying why, to avoid attracting freeloaders). Still a must-visit in the area!
