We ate at this small restaurant, which had a beautiful and tastefully decorated interior. We received a very warm welcome from the staff. We ordered the €38 set menu per person (starter, main course, cheese, dessert). The cuisine was refined, and we were particularly impressed by the sausage terrine. The flavor was excellent, and the portions were very generous. The only slight drawback was that the dishes were a little lukewarm. We recommend stopping by for a meal when you're in La Rochelle.

We came for lunch today and had a wonderful time. Upon arrival, we mentioned that I was gluten-free. The set menu (starter, main course, dessert) was adapted to my dietary restrictions at no extra charge, and always with a smile, which was much appreciated. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal from start to finish. The dishes were excellent, the service was quick and attentive, and the entire team was very friendly and welcoming. A truly great place with excellent value for money.

Excellent cuisine, exactly as described on the menu. Attentive and pleasant staff. Very nice industrial and artistic atmosphere. Good wines on offer.

We dined at this restaurant on a long weekend evening. It was extremely busy, so the service was a little slow, though not unpleasant. The food was good and modern; indeed, as some reviews point out, the portions could be more generous. Only the dessert was average; the rest was very good. The value for money is decent for a restaurant with modern cuisine, but it could use a little more work to justify its still-high prices.

Boulangerie de la Porte Royale

28/05/2026: A very good bakery. The welcome is always very warm, and the bread and pastries are excellent. The butter croissants and pain au chocolat are a real treat.
